Citizens from certain countries do not need a US visa if their stay in the United States does not exceed a given length of time and their trip covers business or pleasure (B visa) visits. All visa exempt visitors must have a machine readable passport.
Visa Waiver Program Countries
National from countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program do not need a visa to enter the United States providing their stay does not exceed 90 days in a six month period and is limited to business or pleasure visits. All visa waiver participants must pre-register their visit by completing an ESTA authorization at least 72 hours prior to their visit.

Mexican and Canadian NAFTA Workers
The North American Free Trade Agreement known as NAFTA allows visa free travel for certain citizens of Canada and Mexico. The TN nonimmigrant visa allows some Canadians and Mexicans to work in the United States for a foreign or US employer. The TN visa applicant must fulfill a profession on the NAFTA list and the position in the US must require a NAFTA professional.
Citizens of Canada, Mexico and Bermuda
Under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) Canadian citizens do not require a visa to the US providing their stay is for business or pleasure only. Mexican citizens must have a machine readable border crossing card also called a Laser Visa. This card permits the citizen to cross into the United States for business or travel purposes. National of Bermuda do not need a visa and may stay up to 180 days in the United States on business or pleasure trips.
